Top Four Spring / Summer Makeup Trends for 2018
It’s that time of the year again, when you need to re-visit your make-up drawers and sort out the products that can be used for spring/summer seasons – and luckily this year’s makeup trends from the runway are quite easy to achieve. Here is a roundup of the top four SS18 makeup trends to help you get the look.
1- Fresh and Glowing Skin:
Fresh looking skin has never gone out of trend, but this year it was spotted heavily on the runway. To achieve the look you must use lightweight base products that melt into the skin – giving a natural and almost no make-up effect and no-one does these bases like Korean brands. The M Magic Cushion Moisture (Misshame.com) foundation from Missha is perfect for achieving that glossy and natural look, while providing decent coverage to the skin.
2- Electric Eye Colors:
To be more specific, electric blues and greens are very much in trend this year and while these might look like difficult shades to pull off – there is always room for creativity with make-up. The Lottie London Shadow Swatch palettes (Virgin Megastore) in Rainbows is perfect to achieve this look, as you can apply the shadows sparingly and blend for a soft and gradient look – or pack on the colors for a more vibrant and electric effect.
3- Glossy and fruity lips:
Matte and liquid lipsticks are a no-no this year as juicy looking lips are taking over their place this season. This will be “return of the gloss” year, as you will notice many brands releasing lip-glosses with fruity shades like soft pinks and peaches. We recommend using the Lipstick Queen Big Bang lip-gloss in Infinite (Harvey Nichols) to achieve this look.
4- Rose Gold Cheeks:
If you think rose gold is a now a trend from the past, you’re mistaken as it’s a cheek trend this year. Models were spotted rocking rose gold highlighters and pink blushes with gold reflex on the runway –and we think it’s one of the most feminine and flattering trends in 2018. Check out the Rodial Instaglam Illuminating Powder (Harvey Nichols) in the shade 02 for that rose gold effect.
