WITH TWO LIVE TELEVISION PROGRAMS ON MBC AND THE BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR L’ORÉAL IN THE MIDDLE EAST, HEALTH MET WITH OLA AL FARES AT THE RECENT HEALTH AWARDS PRESS CONFERENCE 2018 IN DUBAI WHERE SHE REVEALED HER PERSONAL HEALTH TIPS.

BUSY LIFESTYLE
“I think these days, especially in Dubai, we all lead very busy lifestyles; so we need to always remember to drink a lot of water and take good care of our health. It’s not how much we eat, but it’s what we eat, this is what I believe. So if you are clean from within, this will reflect on your face.”

SLEEP
“To have good health, you need to sleep well. I used to sleep early and wake up early, but because of my hectic lifestyle and constant travelling, I sometimes have to sleep on the plane which I know is not good for my health. So now I make an effort on weekends to sleep well and always strive to create a balance between work and my health.”

CLEAN FROM WITHIN
“I believe water is essential; we need to drink a lot of it to cleanse our system from within and our soul also. Then I do meditation and yoga, once a week, plus I work out. I have also started boxing which gives great energy and also a great physique.”

FOOD
“I like healthy fats such as avocado; I eat one every morning. Also, I make it a point to eat a green apple daily also because as they say, ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ In addition to water, I also make sure to drink a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice daily. This is because it has a lot of vitamin C which is an essential ingredient in all of the skin creams. Vitamin C always makes us look fresh, young, and healthy. It’s also excellent for the immune system.”

CURBING CARBS
“I have also cut back on sugar and carbs and only have bread or rice a maximum of once or twice a week. I am also trying now to eat more fish, chicken breast, and lean meats which help me stay slender.”

BALANCE
“After I became the L’Oreal brand ambassador in the Middle East and North Africa, I don’t have a whole lot of time for myself as I have my two television programs also on MBC. So between this and my responsibilities about the titles, it’s not easy, but I am trying to find the right balance.”

RELAX
“I enjoy having massage done. Also, when I have a weekend, I visit a skin clinic just to treat myself to a facial. In fact, sometimes I feel guilty that I am not spending enough time on myself. I am doing these things for the past year and feel quite good about it.”

CHECKUPS
“I have friends who happen to be doctors and I make it a habit to undergo routine health checkups. I feel this is very important for everyone as life today is quite stressful with so many lifestyle diseases out there.”

KEY ANTI-AGING TIP
“It’s definitely the happiness from within that shines through. I believe that beauty comes from within. I am like everyone else; I have my problems, but I give thanks daily because it is these problems that make us stronger. Sometimes we have these problems just to feel happiness. This is what I believe.”
