Each year begins with a hope and a
renewed determination to succeed.
At the Gulf Medical University we are
focused on our vision, to succeed in
all our endeavors. I am quite aware
that our responsibility has grown over
the years and we would continue
to ensure the best for our students
and guide them in their pursuit of
excellence. It is very gratifying to note
the progress made by our students
over the years.
His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin
Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the
Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman
conferred degrees on the 10th batch
of MBBS and BPT students. This year
marked the graduation of the first
batch of DMD and Pharm D students,
who have successfully completed
their program at GMU. We wish
them all the success in their future
Significant events at the university and
our hospital have kept us busy over
the last few months. His Highness
Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi,
Member of the Supreme Council and
Ruler of Ajman inaugurated the newly
established Center for Advanced
Biomedical Research & Innovation
(CABRI) in the presence of HH Sheikh
Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan,
Ministry of Youth & Culture UAE, HH
Sheikh Ahmad Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi,
HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al
Nuaimi and dignitaries from Ministry
of Health and other authorities. The
center will pursue excellence in
biomedical research that shall have
an impact on the education and the
outcome of clinical care. HH Sheikh
Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi also
inaugurated the Center for Advanced
Simulation in Healthcare (CASH) - a
multidisciplinary educational facility
that provides high-tech simulated
and virtually created hospital set-up
for clinical and communication skills
teaching and training for all health care
professionals. CASH offers Training
Programs to students, doctors,
nurses and other health professionals.
I am very happy to inform our readers
that GMC Hospital Ajman achieved
JCI Accreditation, which makes it the
first hospital in Ajman to be accredited
by an international organization.
I am proud to inform that the World
Consulting and Research Corporation
(WCRC), a brand research, knowledge
and consulting enterprise ranked Gulf
Medical University in the ‘100 Best
Private Education Institutions in Asia’
which was audited by internationally
renowned audit firm KPMG. Our
Provost Prof. Gita Ashok Raj received
the award at a ceremony held in
New Delhi which was attended by
many experts from all over Asia. I
am proud to hear this and I attribute
this achievement to our academic
leadership, faculty members and
administrative staff just as much as
to our well-wishers, students and
their parents.
Our institution hosted Prof. Ágoston
Szél, Rector Semmelweis University,
Hungary and Prof. Francesc
Cardellach López, Dean Faculty of
Medicine, University of Barcelona as
part of Heroes of Healthcare Lecture
Series. The Health Communications
Regional Conference on Diabetes &
Endocrinology. Neuro Spinal Hospital
Dubai conducted 3 Cadaveric Spinal
Surgery workshops at the university,
as part of Euro Spine Diploma
The university organized its 5th GMU
Annual Scientific Session which gave
a platform to the faculty and students
to present papers both in Oral and
Poster sessions. It is heartening
to see the great interaction and
significant contributions being made
by our academic team from all
constituent colleges.
