Favorite recipe-MASHED MAGIC

, CFU Department at Emirates NBD in Dubai has

submitted the winning healthy recipe. She says, “This is a very healthy recipe because

all required protein , vitamins, minerals and iron contents are abundant in lentils,

vegetables, and spinach for everyone.”

INGREDIENTS

½ cup basmati rice, ½ cup toor lentils

½ cup each of all vegetables such as potatoes, French beans, carrots; all finely

chopped, ½ cup finely chopped spinach leaves

Few pieces of boneless chicken (optional), 1 onion, Few pods of garlic, Knob of butter,

Pepper powder (as per taste), Salt (as per taste)

INSTRUCTIONS

Wash all of the above listed ingredients very well, except the butter and salt/pepper.

Pressure cook these with a minimum of 5 whistles.

After opening the lid of the cooker, slightly mash the ingredients with the spoon,

the contents have to be semi liquid.(easy to eat), Now add salt to taste, butter and

black pepper powder. Serve in a bowl with the extra topping of butter for children.

Note: Even elders will enjoy this as it’s a complete meal for all and delicious in taste too
