I am delighted that Thumbay
Hospital, Ajman achieved a
significant distinction “Dubai
Quality Appreciation Award”
from His Highness Sheikh
Maktoum bin Mohammed
bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dep-
uty Ruler of Dubai at the 22nd
Business Excellence Awards
ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
We were honored by the visit of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin
Humaid Al-Nuaimi, Chairman, Department of Economic Devel-
opment, Ajman to our campus to witness UAE’s biggest annual
inter-school Medical and Science Exhibition (MASE 2016) organ-
ized by Gulf Medical University. Over 5000 students from over
200 schools visited the exhibition.
As part of our expansion plans, Thumbay Builders inked a deal to
build major upcoming projects of Thumbay Healthcare Division
worth over AED 600 million. An agreement was signed between
Mr. Akram Moideen Thumbay, Director Operations, Thumbay
Builders and Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President, Health-
care Division.
Thumbay Hospital, Fujairah recently celebrated their 10th anni-
versary with a gala function held in Fujairah. I take this opportu-
nity to congratulate the entire team - doctors, nurses, support,
and administrative staff for their efforts and contribution to the
success of the hospital.
To acknowledge thework and achievements of our nurses, Thum-
bay Hospitals in Ajman and Dubai marked International Nurses
Day 2016. A week-long celebration and seminar for professional
development was organized to thank our nurses for their strong
commitment to the profession.
The 4th Annual Diabetes & Endocrinology Conference of the
Northern Emirates, and the 5th Annual Conference on latest
trends in Cardiology- from diagnosis to treatment were organ-
ized which attracted a large number of health care professionals
from all over UAE.
Thumbay Hospital, Dubai, organized the free checkup camp for
1500 pregnant women as part of the Mother’s Day Out event.
Special talks by senior gynecologists, pediatricians, and dieticians
helped expectant mothers understand parenting and mother-
hood. Thumbay Group celebrated ‘Teachers Health Awareness
Week’. As part of the celebrations, the network of academic
hospitals of Thumbay Group and the chain of Thumbay Clinics
across the country offered a host of benefits through checkups
and talks to teachers from various schools across the country.
We are happy to announce that our Thumbay Labs has entered
the Indian diagnostic sector, with its first lab in Hyderabad. The
new facility is in-house within Thumbay Hospital New Life, and
offers a wide portfolio of advanced tests.
Thumbay Group bagged third place for ‘Employer of the Year’
private sector category at the ‘11th Human Capital Forum
MENA’, held at Sofitel The Palm – Dubai. Mr. Suraj Padmanab-
han, Manager – Talent Acquisition won the ‘HR Professional of
the Year’ award for the private sector at the MENA HR Excel-
lence Awards.
Thumbay Group also bagged the prestigious “Procurement
Best Practice Appreciation Award” at the 3rd International
Procurement & Supply Chain Conference 2016. Mr. Zainul Abi-
deen, Manager – Purchase & Inventory received the award on
behalf of Thumbay Group.
I am delighted to share that I have been included in the Forbes’
list of ‘Top Indian Leaders in the Arab World’ for the second
consecutive year.
I delivered the keynote address at the 18th National Seminar
in Hospital & Healthcare Management, Medico Legal Systems
& Clinical Research organized by Symbiosis Institute of Health
Sciences (SIHS). I had a great interaction with experts from
various leading institutions during the seminar.
Before I sign off, I am happy to inform that our Blends & Brews
Coffee Shoppe has opened a new drive-thru outlet in ‘The
Black Square’ building, Ajman. According to Thumbay Group’s
strategic plans, 100 Blends & Brews coffee shops will be added
worldwide by 2020.
As you are aware, HEALTH Magazine has been one of the most
acclaimed magazines in the region for the last 17 years. We are
pleased to inform all health care and wellness professionals
that this magazine is instituting the ‘Annual HEALTH Awards’,
which will be presented during a grand event in Dubai in Janu-
ary 2017. The awards will be organized by HEALTH Magazine
in association with Thumbay Media. Details will be available in
this magazine and also on the website www.healthmagazine.
