David Hasselhoff has been
announced as one of the
judges for Image Nation’s
annual amateur short film
competition, Arab Film Studio.
AFS teaches all aspects of
filmmaking from development
to production and culminates
with the students producing
a seven to 10 minute short
film. The judges will have
the final decision on seven
awards, including Best Film,
which includes a Dhs 50,000
prize to fund the scriptwriting
of the winner’s feature length
film. The judging panel,
made up of 24 esteemed
film industry professionals,
also includes writer Wesley
Strick (A Nightmare on
Elm Street), Oscar-winning
director Davis Guggenheim
(An Inconvenient Truth)
and Image Nation partner
Ashok Amritraj of Hyde Park
Entertainment. The Knight
Rider actor, affectionately
known as “The Hoff ”, is a
big supporter of AFS, saying:

for any budding filmmaker
to get started in the industry.
I’m so honored to be a part of
this year’s judging panel and
I can’t wait to see what each
contestant has come up with.”
