Creating a Brand from Scratch… Meet the Founder of Nudestix Jenny Frankel
A woman with a mission, Jenny Frankel is a chemical engineer with over 20 years of developing makeup products. She embarked on her career developing formulas for MAC cosmetics, then went on to create a complexion beauty brand called Cover FX, and then her latest beauty brand Nudestix in 2014. Here she muses about being at the helm of a booming beauty brand.
“My daughters Ally and Taylor inspired the launches of Nudestix. They are actually the Chief Inspirational Officers at Nudestix. We started thinking about this idea in 2011, when the girls were teenagers and were getting interested in beauty products. Inspirational beauty for them was for beauty to be multi-tasking and effortless while creating a natural look where they still look like themselves, but better. They also are not makeup artists, so the trend colors, artistry tips, clutter of compacts, series of steps and ‘Instagram’ heavy makeup results were
not appealing for every day. They wanted luxury beauty to be easy, fast, fun and to-go, since as busy women we are always on the go. They also wanted the ultimate in luxury formulas from around the world, but have recyclable packaging with minimal waste, no preservatives, cruelty-free and vegan formulas wherever possible. Making a positive difference is very meaningful to them and encouraging women to feel confident in their own skin.”
Leveraging her Background
“As a chemical engineer, developing beauty products and brands for 20 years, I was able to take this wish list and vision and turn it into reality developing lip, eyes and face luxury makeup with innovative stix packaging that is so easy to apply, just draw and smudge. All Nudestix makeup is designed shades of Nudes for all skin tones, age and types.”
“I’m actually not very good at self-care indulgences, even though I preach it to my daughters as a priority. Reading and travelling are the two passions I have to help me ‘escape’ from reality and get inspired. My yoga practice is very important to me, and finding my breath really calms me in stressful situations. I wish I had more time for this. Making time for my family also really grounds me and reminds me of my priorities and how grateful I am to have such a supportive family.”
