Don’t Forget these Super Foods when You Travel

Looking for healthy options when on the move in a new city is a real challenge, but the fact is that with some planning in advance there are several super foods that will keep you healthy and going, throughout your trip and after it too, as follows.

Nuts and dried fruits

Nuts and dried fruits such as almonds, pistachios, raisin can be packed into a pouch to munch on them whenever you are hungry. Not only are they health but are filling too.

Chia Seeds

These virtually tasteless and easy to digest seeds are power packed with protein and antioxidants. Its fiber content aids digestion during your food trials. Carry a pouch of chia seeds along with you during travel and soak them a night before, you can then add them to your smoothies or salads. Once sprouted make sure you consume it immediately.

Flax Seeds

This super food is commonly used to improve digestive health or relieve constipation. Carry a packet of ground flax seeds which you can then add to your hot or cold breakfast cereal, sprinkle over your sandwich or mix a tablespoon to yogurt. This will give you the required energy and keep you full.

Quinoa

With high fiber and iron content, quinoa is ideal for combating altitude sickness and as it is gluten free, it works well for people with gluten intolerance who usually have a tough time finding the right food to eat during travel. For travel you can carry along with you quinoa crackers, cereal, and granola bars made using quinoa. They are healthy and easy to make at home.
