Friday Brunching at Ajman Hotel
Going to Ajman Hotel is always a treat for my family and I. Café Naseem offers a family fun Friday brunch that not only serves up lots of different dishes from around the world, but has several live cooking stations, gorgeous seaside and pool views, and an entertaining band belting out tunes all afternoon.
From the very entrance of the main dining area, there is an expansive salads area with a heavy focus on seafood; which for seafood lovers like we are, was a dream come true. Huge platters of whole crabs, jumbo prawns, and lobsters were displayed, along with the dipping sauces. Then there was every kind of Arabic mezze item on offer; from hummus and moutabel to vine leaves; as well as lots of smaller salads like to satisfy even the most discerning gourmand. Just a few were the carpaccio platter, smoked chicken platter, seared tuna, and tomato mozzarella. There was also a large variety of cheeses, breads, spreads, and crackers.
Soups on offer included vegetable and vermicelli as well as our family favorite—seafood bisque, a creamy satisfying soup loaded with fresh seafood.
Other mains included beef cheeks stew, lamb salona, grilled chicken with tomato and olive salsa, and baked sea bass, which was amazing as well as gratinated potatoes and roasted root vegetables.
The live pasta station, shawarma, and the barbeque grills were outdoors as was the Indian station from Bukhara with some spicy treats, including aloo gobi kalimirchi, dal bukhara, keema matar, and chicken biryani, Another live cooking station was the Indian curries which included: a dum biryani, spicy paneer curry, and a lamb curry; served with tiny flaky breads. And did I mention an endless stream of freshly made mocktails?
The barbeque had several kinds of fish— salmon steak, tuna steak, sea bass, king fish steak, and fresh jumbo prawns as well as beef steaks, lamb chops, and chicken to choose from and cooked exactly how you like. I had some jumbo prawns and sea bass grilled fresh and served with accompaniments including delicious sauces.
And not only was there a huge variety of various sweet treats, but also a live crepes station and some delicious mice-cream. I had my crepe served with chocolate sauce, with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and nuts, while the kids enjoyed them with chocolate ice-cream. There was also mango passion cake, tiramisu, crabapple, fruit tarts, brownies, opera cake, and so much more.
The Verdict: Grazing on delicious food on the beach is my favorite way to spend an afternoon. Here you will be spoilt for choice with the variety; don’t miss The Friday Brunch at the Ajman Hotel.
