There’s No Such Thing as Bad BBQ…Mighty Quinn’s Gives Meat Lovers a Treat
Mighty Quinn’s leaves no stone unturned when it comes to serving up high quality, lip-smacking meat dishes in industrial chic, but friendly ambiance. The US-founded barbecue chain first launched in New York, and now has several locations in America, as well as in the Philippines and Taiwan, plus two in Dubai –at The Dubai Mall—which we tried—and at JBR.
There is a long counter with stools and board games to enjoy while you graze; this family eatery prides itself on serving briskets and cuts of high-quality meat that has been marinated for 16 hours and longer to impart a slice of super tender and deeply flavored meat.
For starters, we tucked into Mac and Cheese balls—crispy and gooey at the same time, and served with chipotle cheese sauce. The signature starter was their Dirty Fries, quite literally freshly cut potatoes, fried and served over with bits of the slow-cooked brisket meat and gravy which gave these fries a really meaty, soft texture without being overpowering.
From the meat dishes on the menu, we selected the famed oak smoked US brisket, slow cooked for 16 to 22 hours and seasoned simply with salt; we had ours with a side of mashed potatoes. We also indulged in The Mighty Brontosaurus Rib—a large platter of about eight pieces of beef smoked ribs cooked for 8 to 10 hours which was served with two sides of our choice—sweet potato fries and the mac and cheese.
Needless to say, the Brisket was incredibly tender, did not even require a steak knife to cut it. The Burnt Ends was another main we indulged in—double smoked beef brisket cubes glazed in BBQ sauce, as well as the Mighty Trio Platter which includes all of the signature favorites like the beef brisket, BBQ smoked chicken breast, and smoked lamb ribs, amongst others.
Despite our groaning stomachs, it did not take much coaxing to get us to indulge in some signature sweet treats which like their mains and sides, were large in portion size. One was the blueberry cheese cake served with a large scoop of ice cream. The second dessert was the banana and toffee sticky date pudding was an endorphin-boosting experience dessert for people like me who love sweet treats to wind up their meal.
The Verdict: When the craving for good BBQ kicks in, hit up Mighty Quinn’s for a hugely portioned delicious meal served in a relaxed ambiance in the world’s biggest, most glamorous mall.
