Sheraton Abu Dhabi welcomes rugby fans with distinct venues

Wednesday, 16th September 2015 – Marking the start of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort has just announced two distinctly different venues to watch the tournament. As one of Abu Dhabi’s favourite nightlife spots, the Tavern invites rugby pundits to enjoy the matches in a traditional pub setting. Located in the hotel’s palm tree resort, The Beachcomber bar offers a relaxed outdoor venue to cheer on the teams. Both places will be showing all 48 matches of the six week tournament which is expected to be the biggest ever Rugby World Cup with a record number of tickets sold.

“As the date of the kick-off is fast approaching, the excitement is building up. In a multicultural city such as Abu Dhabi, we are looking forward to welcoming rugby pundits from many different countries such as England, Wales, Scotland, USA, France, Italy, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and more.” – says Yves Tarabout, Acting General Manager of the hotel.

“The Tavern is one of the best loved pubs of the city with over three decades of history and connection to the community. Great food, friendly service and superb atmosphere is guaranteed here night after night. With casual lounge seating, a large screen and a beachside feel, The Beachcomber is the perfect spot to kick back and watch the matches outdoors as the nights are getting cooler.” – describes the scene Yves Tarabout.

The Tavern will be serving the best of pub grub, while the Beachcomber will welcome match goers with a beachside BBQ. The Beachcomber also offers guests the opportunity to smoke aromatic shisha.  Life size cut-out boards of rugby players will ensure that visitors can snap the perfect match selfie. Special drink deals and happy hour promotions will round up the offering.

A great night out would not be complete without music. The Tavern’s house band will be entertaining guests with live music between matches, while at the Beachcomber pundits can get the party started with the hotel’s resident DJ.
