Mawaheb from Beautiful People, an art studio for the determined ones from 16 years and above, is cheering for eight of its talented students who will participate in the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.
To be held from March 14 to 21 at nine venues in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 is the world’s largest humanitarian sporting event that aims to empower People of Determination through sports. It is being billed as the largest Special Olympics World Games in history, and an expected 7,500 athletes from over 192 nations will compete in 24 Olympic-type sports events.
Six students of Mawaheb – Aarti Shah, Asma Baker, Mariam Ismail, Nazeer Ali, James Casaki– will be participating in the spectacular opening ceremony to be held at Zayed Sports City. The students will also be featured in a dedicated video released by the Games Committee in the run-up to the ceremony.
In addition, two students of Mawaheb – Abdulla Lutfi and Vincent Baur – will be participating in the games at athletes. Vincent will showcase his skills in golf and Abdulla will do the same in bowling. They have both been practicing rigorously to prepare for the competition.
