07 September 2015, Sharjah, UAE: Tilal Properties, the pioneering Sharjah-based real estate developer, today announced that initial roadworks have now been completed at its AED 2.4 billion Tilal City development in Sharjah.
The announcement marks a major milestone in the progress of Tilal City, which is set to become the first-of-its-kind mixed use community in the emirate. The development comprises 1855 land plots, offering the opportunity to GCC nationals as well as UAE residents to buy or lease land and develop properties in Sharjah for the first time ever.
The roadworks at the development is being carried out by Al Marwan General Contracting Company (MGCC).
The completion of the initial phase of works now paves the way for sewage and water pipelines as well as cable laying for electricity. Once these activities have been achieved, we will begin demarcating the plots.
Welcoming the progress on site, Haysam Jazairi, Business Development Executive Director at Tilal Properties, said that the company was excited to see its first land development in Sharjah progressively taking shape.
“Tilal City is one of the most exciting developments not only in Sharjah, but in the wider UAE. The completion of the initial roadworks marks significant progress for the project, as we prepare to hand over the first land plots to developers next year,” he said.
Split into five zones (A-E), the masterplanned Tilal City development will occupy an area of 25 million square feet and provide high-quality, affordable housing for 55,000 – 65,000 residents in apartments, villas and townhouses.
“Tilal City is a truly unique development in that as a developer we are providing all the utilities and key infrastructure, which is a first for this sort of development in the emirate,” Jazairi commented.
“Tilal City is the largest development project we have undertaken in the region and we are very pleased with the progress made on site so far,” commented Al Marwan General Contracting Company’s project manager at Tilal City. “With the initial roadworks now completed, we are on track to enable Tilal Properties to hand over the first land plots in 2016 as per project schedule.”
Tilal City allows investors to build for sale, leasing and personal use. Non-Arab expats can purchase land plots on a 100-year leasehold basis within the scheme, with freehold land plots available for GCC nationals and UAE’s Arab residents.
Strategically located on Emirates Road, Tilal City is just 10 kilometres from Sharjah’s International Airport and within convenient commuting distance to nearby Emirates, with Dubai only 2km away.
Today’s announcement marks the latest in a line of milestones for Tilal City. Earlier this year, Tilal Properties announced that 70 per cent of land plots within two of the development’s key zones had been sold. In light of the strong investor interest in Tilal City, a dedicated sales office opened on site in April.
