The luxury Maldivian island will host the ‘Carnival at Velaa’ with London-based Brazilian Fantasy getting the island paradise all dressed up and ready to Samba
The secluded tropical setting of Velaa Private Island in the Noonu Atoll is being transformed into a Brazilian-inspired carnival celebration with a programme of events running from February 7 to 12 as part of Carnival Week.
The culinary entertainment concept of Carnival at Velaa allows guests to indulge in their cultural appetite with signature Brazilian dishes and get engulfed in live entertainment.
Promising the true essence of native Brazil, guests will be enthralled by an extravagant Brazilian celebration complete with bright colours and show-stopping performers. With an incredible lineup of live performances, the carnival celebration embraces the culture of samba through dance and drum sessions along with high-energy Capoeira classes led by Brazilian Fantasy, a London-based professional dance collective.
With 12 years of experience, Brazilian Fantasy’s dancers have performed stunning Brazilian Dance shows on the world’s most famous stages with and for A-list celebrities. The dance group will perform two shows on February 8 and 10 to recreate the salsa and samba rhythms of the Rio Carnival with an enthralling Brazilian ambience of live music and dancers in colourful and sequined outfits.
The four-bedroom Velaa Private Residences are designed with world-class comfort and exquisite decor, making it the ideal way to celebrate Carnival Week with the entire family or a group of friends. Each of these residences has a total area of 1,350 square meters and two storeys, which can accommodate up to ten people.
