Yas Island is hosting the third edition of the FREE Yas Fitness Festival which for the first time will include wellbeing as part of the two-day event at Gateway Park South from 1st – 2nd March 2019, 9am to 7pm. The Yas Fitness & Wellbeing Festival aims to bring the community together to inspire men, women and children for a healthier and happier lifestyle from the inside out.
Celebrating all aspects of fitness and healthy living the festival includes: an exciting schedule of moti-vational talks from UAE’s top fitness experts, interactive workshops, relaxation zones, live cooking sessions, back to back fitness classes, spinning and boxing classes, dedicated kids zone, and a shop-ping village filled with the latest health and fitness brands. Here’s your guide to a free active week-end with friends and family at Yas Fitness & Wellbeing Festival:
Fitness Zone on the Main Stage
The Yas Fitness & Wellbeing Festival will host over 25 classes to get your heart racing and burn the calories. Move your hips to Zumba beats, blast burpees in a HITT session, burn those abs in a core class or join a fitness class with the family in the group sessions. No matter whether you are a pro, a novice or just want to work out in the fresh air there is something for everyone to take part in.
– Family friendly sessions – 11 am to 1 pm
– Group workout sessions – 1 pm to 7 pm
Outdoor Gym, Spinning & Boxing Ring
There will be an outdoor gym area with several workout facilities where you can test out new equip-ment and speak to qualified instructors to get hints and tips on how to effectively use the gym. You could also choose to join a spinning class, take a boxing session at the ring, or even test your strength and endurance with a tyre flip workout session.
Kids can have fun exploring many new activities, try the kids gym area, get creative with arts and crafts or be part of our junior fitness classes – all designed to get them excited about living an active life. Kids can challenge themselves at the obstacle course, bounce through hoops, scramble up walls, wobble along bridges, hang around the monkey bars, spring to new heights and slide to glory.
Yoga and Pilates Zone
There will be all types of yoga and pilates sessions with local expert instructors who will showcase a variety of methods such as hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa and iyenagar yoga, in addition to meditation clas-ses for a genuinely authentic experience. There will also be a number of sessions in the morning only for women. Don’t forget to bring your own yoga mats to join the class.
– Women only sessions – 9 am to 11 am
Over two days, fitness experts and motivational speakers will host workshops, presenting new ideas on emotional well-being, ideas for transforming your life including: techniques for coping with stress, explore chakras and ways to unleashing your inner powers. There will also be a series of interactive workshops that focus on conditioning the body, such as back and spine strengthening, posture, core and rehabilitation.
With so many activities at the festival, you may want to take a break, relax and unwind at the relaxa-tion zone where you can immerse yourself into the tranquil peace and serenity of a zen room, meet expert therapists and get a free massage to invigorate your senses.
Join a live cooking session and get introduced to nutritious foods and flavoursome healthy recipes. Learn new techniques and discover new recipes and ingredients that make cooking easy, fun and re-warding.
