Zulekha Hospital and Philips joined hands once again to launch the first-of-its-kind cath lab in the UAE equipped with the latest therapy platforms – this is to further strengthen the hospital’s outstanding care and grow its service line through its world-class technology. The lab will be the second interventional therapy lab to open at Zulekha Hospital Dubai following the launch of the Philips Azurion 7C20 ceiling mounted platform.

Philips Azurion 7 is the next generation image guided therapy platform that allows procedures to be performed easily and confidently, helping to optimise lab performance and provide superior care. This advanced technology enables the hospital to unite clinical excellence with workflow innovation.

Mr. Marc Antoine Zora, UAE & Iraq area manager and Mr. Manoj Arora, IGT business and clinical marketing manager, MET at Philips joined by Founder and Co-Chairperson Dr. Zulekha Daud, Co-Chairperson Mrs. Zanubia Shams and Mr Taher Shams, Managing Director of Zulekha Healthcare Group inaugurated the new Cath Lab.

Mr Shams commented: “Our investments in acquiring only the best technologies demonstrates our on-going commitment to strengthening our technology offering, so that we are able to continue provide the most advanced and best-in-class healthcare services to those in the UAE. This comes in line with the UAE government’s Vision 2021 and the National Innovation Strategy in its quest to achieve world-class healthcare, of which technology plays a crucial role.

“Philips is able to provide us with cutting-edge technology to serve the community better, and we’re pleased to be collaborating with them in order to make a positive difference,” he concluded.

Mr. Zora from Philips commented: “Azurion 7 is Philips’ state of the art interventional system that will help the interventional team at Zulekha Hospital to experience the truly intuitive and seamless workflow offered by the new platform. It will help provide superior care for patients, and perform procedures more effectively, whilst optimising lab productivity,” he concluded.

Mr. Arora from Philips added: “The new futuristic platform of Azurion with its open architecture sets it above any other system in its league. This is because it provides full flexibility in the examination room through its ability to take control of the connected devices allowing access to images and information from other modalities, thereby making right therapeutic decisions and enables better clinical outcomes.”

The future proofed platform along with its highly skilled clinical team enables Zulekha Hospital to expand its care towards neuro-interventional radiology procedures required by various patients. The integrated system allows concurrent access to a range of modalities along with current and previous patient status reports to help make clinical decision making faster.

In addition to the Philips Azurion 7, the lab is supported with an advanced contrast and saline management system, flexible enough for multiple cardiovascular and vascular procedures. This helps in precise control of coronary injections, reduced radiation exposures and minimal amount of contrast injections. The system is also integrated with a state of the art Volcano Core precision guided therapy system comprising IFR, FFR & IVUS systems for advanced diagnosis and treatment.
