Nestled in the corner of
the expansive third floor
of the Address Hotel, the
ambiance of the Jacques
La Coupe salon was
everything I had expected
and more. Understated
silver and white colors
dominated with a chic
meets uber stylish feel and
attitude. The man behind
the salon is Jacques
Hanna.
As he flicked through my hair,
noticing the fading highlights,
the orange brassiness,
and my drying ends, he
recommended changing
my entire look by taking
the color to a cooler
level using medium ash
brown but going darker
instead of lighter. My
skin tone was in the cool
range and this would
impart freshness into
my complexion. The
hair makeover included
changing the base
color and then adding
very subtle lowlights in
medium ash to my entire
head of hair. He then would
cut my hair only in the crown
to bump up the volume for a
more sophisticated look.
Once my hair was rinsed
and cut very slightly on the
crown, it was blow-dried to
perfection.
Results:
I was delighted;
the darker color was the
coolest any stylist has ever
been able to create in my
naturally warm colored
hair. The color was more
dramatic and my skin took
on a brighter look plus
my hair looked healthier
and glossier than it had in
ages.
