Another academic year has begun with

a new batch of students entering the

portals of our university carrying with

them a dream of becoming world-class

healthcare professionals.

Any accomplishment seems to become

a short-lived phenomenon today than

ever before due to the constant chang-

es and developments in every sphere of

life. The demands and needs of the so-

ciety are changing at a rapid pace. Chal-

lenges that accompany any change

have to be met with equal alacrity. Our

university is committed to meet the

challenge of giving the best to our stu-

dents and the society.

The construction of the new GMU Hos-

pital within our campus will begin this

November and is expected to be com-

pleted in two years. The start of the art

purpose built 300 bed teaching hospital

will focus onmedical tourism also. Plans

are made to construct a dedicated Den-

tal Hospital with over 50 chairs, to teach

and train students from College of

Dentistry. Likewise we will also be con-

structing a Rehabilitation center which

includes physical therapy, Speech &

Hearing and Occupational therapy spe-

cialties, with start of the art laboratories

including GAIT Analysis lab.

As part of our international expansion

plans, we have signed an MoU with

New Life Hospital in Hyderabad India to

start Thumbay New Life Hospital under

the management of Thumbay Group

UAE. Under the agreement, the 250 bed

multispecialty hospital is taken on a

long term lease. This venture will pave

way for further expansion in India with

more projects to be undertaken in the

months to come.

Thumbay Medical & Health Tourism De-

partment and SNTTA signed a MoU to

give a fillip to medical and health tour-

ism in the country. Thumbay Hospitals

and SNTTA have strategically partnered

to assist and offer world-class services

at affordable prices to International pa-

tients and guests and to look after all

their needs whilst in the UAE. The part-

nership will help Thumbay Hospitals to

extend its reach and market worldwide

to prospective patients. This partner-

ship will leave Thumbay Hospitals to

concentrate on its commitment of pro-

viding world class healthcare at afford-

able prices.

Thumbay Group expanded its hospital-

ity services by launching exclusive la-

dies only Body & Soul ELITE Health Club

alongside exclusive ladies on Blends &

Brews Coffee Shoppe on the Ajman Cor-

niche.

GMC Hospital Ajman celebrated the

World Environmental Day under the

theme Go Green- Making Earth a Better

Place, by planting trees.

I am delighted to be a speaker in the up-

coming Smart Healthcare Technology

Summit Dubai 2015.

The response for admissions at the col-

lege this year has been very encourag-

ing. It is a clear indication that the stu-

dents who wish to pursue their career

in medicine or physiotherapy find our

college as an ideal institution to achieve

their goals. I once again welcome stu-

dents of the 2015-16 batch, and wish

them all the very best in their studies.

We shall provide, as always, the best

of facilities and a stimulating academic

ambience at the college. It is for you to

derive the maximum benefit and come

out with flying colors and get a good

name for yourself, your parents and to

the college.
