5 Sunday Habits to Set Yourself up for a Successful Week

Some habits you should include in your Sunday routine are:

1. Reflect on your past week and plan accordingly for the upcoming week and beyond.

If you want your week to be productive, you need to review your previous week. Look at everything you did wrong and don’t want to repeat, everything you did right and want to continue to do so, and everything which you can improve in the upcoming week. Once you know your mistakes, vow to do better next week.

2. Practice self-care and “me time”.

Weekdays can be emotionally and physically draining. Take out at least one hour to pamper yourself. Take a bubble bath, read, write in your journal, listen to music, practice skin care, and go for a walk or to the spa. Do something you enjoy doing.

3. Plan your meals for the week.

Make your upcoming week less busy by planning your meals ahead. Determine what recipes you want to try and decide all courses for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your week will go by considerably smoother if you don’t have to think up potential options every time you want to eat.

4. Take an hour to get organized and journal your thoughts and plans.

Reduce stress about the week ahead by taking an hour to organize your thoughts and plans and jot them down in a journal or on a calendar. Make a to-do-list. Note down upcoming projects and other important things. This way you can make sure you won’t miss any appointments or important meetings, etc. in the next week. If the cause of your stress isn’t a hectic upcoming week but the quality of the week past, write down all the negative things and thoughts which are troubling you. Let it all out by venting to paper.

5. Make sure you eat well and get in a healthy amount of sleep.

Have delicious, fulfilling, and healthy meals on Sunday. Don’t seek comfort in junk food or processed stuff. Do not underestimate the role your diet plays in your overall quality of life. Happy stomach means a happy you. Pay mind to what and how much you’re eating.
