Pray Love Eat…5 Steps to a Healthier You

In our fast paced, crazy world we barely make time to eat, let alone think about our food and its effects on our body. It is imperative we think about the food we eat.  The important things to think about are:

  • What is the source – takeaways, fast food joints?
  • What is the mood/energy of the people preparing the foods?
  • What is the nature of the food – fried, cooked, raw, vegan or not, wholesome or not?
  • What does it do to your body – cleanses, restore, rejuvenates, nurtures, regenerates, slows down the metabolism, makes you sluggish?
  • What is your objective for eating what you are about to eat – fulfill your hunger, fulfill your emotions, lose weight, put on weight, clean your children’s plate?

It’s worrying how many of us actually do not think before we eat.  It may sound new age, but stop your mental endless to-do lists and instead, stop for just 10 seconds and give your food the necessary attention. It will change your life forever.

The 5 Steps to Help

  1. While shopping for your food, think of the objective. Shop accordingly.
  2. While prepping your food, think happy thoughts. Put on some good music that will soothe your nerves and this energy gets transferred to your food.  If you are cooking for the family, you will see the benefits of this joyful cooking practice
  3. Before you eat, whilst sitting at the table with the food in front of you, bless the food and energize it to an extent that it will rejuvenate every cell of your body. Send it clear intentions of what you want that food to do for your body.
  4. Eat slowly and mindfully. Savor every mouthful, Love every grain and chew it with intention.  You will find this very fulfilling and also filling.  You will end up eating less and feeling full and grateful without needing to overeat
  5. When finished, thank your food, thank nature, and thank whoever has made the food, genuinely and from the bottom of your heart.

These 5 practices ensure you will never eat food that is detrimental to your body and you will start seeing a significant difference in your health and energy levels within a couple of days. This practice is called Conscious Eating.
