Ramadan Special: Gratitude and Constant Thankfulness

Ramadan is just about here and with the fasting and charity, also comes the state of gratitude. To highlight the importance of gratitude, Sultaneh Naeem, Founder of TWIG and Personal Growth & Leadership Expert, explains more.
Gratitude is a state of mind that puts attention on what is, rather than investing in a perception of lack, and that means setting attention or choosing to be in a state of abundance and flow.
Gratitude is a state that has nothing to do with that we think we have or we think we don’t have; it’s a state of realizing God in every way possible. We are grateful for realizing and being aware of the creator and the creative power in our lives. So gratitude always anchors us in that sense of not being alone, and for that we need to be grateful. That’s what I suggest we need to start being aware of, rather than fixing our attention on what we have or don’t have.
This is why we need to practice thanking everything we use, as an acknowledgement of the totality of all our effort, that the whole world is serving us and we are serving the whole world.
A good way to train our mind is setting our intention on, being grateful for everything, spending another day on this planet, loving and being loved, breathing, being provided, starting the meal with gratitude and ending the meal with gratitude, receiving gifts with gratitude, buying and selling with gratitude, acknowledging and being grateful for the function of our organs (eyes, arms, ears) and not taking them for granted and most importantly, ending the day with gratitude about all what we’ve experienced all through the day and also being grateful for sleeping. That’s why a state of gratitude means acknowledging the wisdom of God in everything, trusting that everything is for our highest and best.
