Dine in the Dark at Noire

Most of us rely on our five senses to fully immerse ourselves in a meal. But the team at Noire, a multi award-winning restaurant located at Fairmont Dubai, has an entirely unique concept on offer.

Guests here are invited to dine in the dark and indulge in what is known as “Blind Dining”– an insightful experience with a difference. Noire at Fairmont Dubai is the only place in this region where a person can have a delicious, 5-star gourmet meal but in a completely pitch-black dining room. What this dining experience really does is make guests re-evaluate their perceptions, but through a very thought process.  Guests here will undergo an entire loss of vision for one and a half hours and in turn, will place all of their trust in executive chef Tuomas Heikkinen and his team’s hands.

With a fully fitted and blackened out venue, Noire at Fairmont Dubai requires its servers to employ cutting edge night vision goggles to enable guests on their culinary journey throughout the restaurant, and to help diners with their multi-sensory experience.

But it’s not only the presentation and food that is kept a secret, tells Mohamed Mattar, Restaurant Manager, adding, “Also, other elements are also removed, including the general ambience of the restaurant, décor, table setting, China and flatware as well as people gazing, of which the latter is sometimes considered almost as important in Dubai as the meal itself.”
