Elim Launches in the UAE

Elim, the South African Spa brand has finally made its way to the Middle East and will change the way we think about traditional manicure and pedicure treatments forever.  With a truly innovative new line launching this month in the UAE, the brands ethos is to work with your body rather than against it.  

Elim has three product ranges; MediHeel, MediHand and BodyScience and whilst the Middle Eastern beauty industry has seen several recent innovations in products and technology across facial skincare, beauty and hair care, not many breakthroughs have occurred for hands and feet. With regular pedicures generally relying on filing and blading the skin, Elim’s MediHeel pedicure chemically breaks down protein bonds in the skin to remove dead skin cells uniquely, leaving a smoother foot than the more traditional pedicures leave.

Founder Shantelle Long Booysen says, “I had cracked heels myself and once I discovered that my body experiences injury with excessive filing and blading, I started looking for a healthier alternative where my skin would not react with calluses every time I filed my heels. I soon discovered that this same rule applies for most of our beauty issues’’. 

MediHeel is a 6 step pedicure program designed to change the sequence of the traditional pedicure and eliminate cracked heels safely and effectively. The treatment comprises of a callus removal kit to safely remove dead skin. An exfoliator, additive and heel balm follow to leave feet clean, fresh, hydrated and moisturized. To finish, the beautiful Rejuvenating Gold Spritz is applied, containing fine gold particles ensconced in beautifully fragranced oil.  

Elim has been brought to the region by Blissology Beauty. Spa treatments and retail products are currently available at Shangri-La hotels, Bedashing and Joe Raad with more outlets to be announced soon.
