Celebrating International Women’s Day in March 2018

International Women’s day is celebrated on March 8th every year. It is a global celebration of women from all backgrounds who boast a range of achievements.

International Women’s Day (IWD) has been established since the early 1900’s – a time of change and development in the industrialized world which saw a flourishing population and the rise of “radical ideologies”. International Women’s Day embraces a call for gender parity such as better pay and voting rights. Today, women all over the world have made a difference from Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, Nobel prize winner Malala, and of course grandmothers, mothers, daughters, and sisters who all play their own unique and major role in one’s upbringing.

People all over the world will celebrate International Women’s Day, and some of the festivities will include: art exhibitions, discounted spa treatments, and afternoon tea parties.

Those are some recommendations, but what will you do to celebrate? Here is a list of 10 popular activities to get you started. Happy International Women’s Day!
