Essential Tips to Boost Fertility in Men and Women

Infertility to a large extent has been associated with women. However, studies indicate that almost 40 percent of the infertility cases are due to male factors, another 40 per cent due to female factors and 20 percent are a result of combined factors. Here are a few suggested tips that can help boost fertility in men and women naturally and increase their chances of parenthood.
Tips to Boost Fertility in Men
Eat Healthy
Our diets and a sedentary lifestyle often lead to unnecessary weight gain. There is now emerging evidence that male obesity impacts negatively on male reproductive potential not only by reducing sperm quality, but in particular altering the physical and molecular structure of the mature sperm. It is important to eat healthy and have a balanced diet comprising protein, minerals, anti oxidants and iron. Men must focus on getting at least 20 minutes of a work out of their choice. Fun indoor workout sessions like yoga, Pilates are gaining increasing popularity today.
Give Up Smoking
Smoking is a major cause of infertility in men along its other ill effects on an individual’s health. Smoking lowers sperm count and can also lead to complications. Quitting smoking is an effective way to increase one’s fertility.
Avoid Very Hot Baths
It has been noted that sperms develop best in cool surroundings. Therefore it is important to avoid hot baths, sitting for long periods of time and tight-fitting underwear that constricts.
Reduce Chemical Exposure
Exposure to xenoestrogens (plastics, pesticides, and industrial pollutants) can greatly deteriorate one’s fertility rate, therefore, one should avoid the use of plastic containers. Synthetic deodorants can be harmful too; stick to organic products to avoid maximum chemical exposure.
Tips to Boost Fertility in Women
Stay Hydrated
Water is the key to all problems. When you don’t drink enough water, the cervical fluid—which helps the sperm find the target egg—gets sluggish. Consume plenty of water to step up the fertility game.
Stay Active
It has been noted that women who do regular housework or any form of moderate exercise are likely to conceive better than those with sedentary lifestyles. However, do not indulge in heavy training or exercise which is said to hamper the fertility process.
Avoid Stress
Stress in women could be due to several factors. However, hormonal changes are the main underlying causes. As your stress levels increase, your chances of getting pregnant decrease. Meditating, exercising or spending time with friends help reduce stress and improve fertility.
