Can Mind Power Help You Stop Craving Unhealthy Foods?

Do you feel guilty for indulging in that tiny bit of chocolate or donut? The fact is that guilt comes when you feel that what you are doing is wrong. But what is wrong in having a tiny bit of chocolate? We should not feel guilty about it because eating a bit of everything is the key to a balanced wellbeing. The moment you are going to forbid yourself from having something, you are going to want it more. Here’s help.

You can crave something because your body has a certain need for it. For example, if your body lacks magnesium it is possible to feel the need to eat chocolate. Also if you feel depressed, you might as well crave for chocolate because magnesium helps stabilizing the mood. But in some situations you might crave to eat because you feel emotionally “empty” or frustrated: food will then substitute to an emotional need and create a compensatory effect: you fulfill yourself physically with food to fill “full”psychologically.

Concerning the food, it is important to eat a bit of everything, not to create cravings and frustration. Yes it is permitted to eat chocolate, not the whole tablet but a bite won’t hurt you.

Concerning the mind, being in shape and feeling good is accepting yourself as you are, as good as you can possibly be, according to your own body and lifestyle. Because you might not be happy being thin in being frustrated every time you want to eat something. Accepting your own limits is the key to well-being.

Allow yourself to eat everything but with moderation.

Accept your own limits and reality about your own body.

Value yourself: instead of seeing what you are not, value what you already are.

Don’t close every door with negativism; convince yourself of the positive things you can do and have.
