Eyebrows Thinning? This Could Be Why…

Most of us accept our thinning hair as part and parcel of aging. But when our eyebrows just don’t grow and ultimately look scanty and thin, it not only makes us look older but gives an outdated look. Here are three reasons why your eyebrows may be thinning and what you can do about it…
1 Aging
As we get older, our hair tends to thin out naturally, which also happens to the eyebrows. This happens when some of the eyebrow hair follicles opt to rest and keep on resting increasingly as the years pass by. This kind of eyebrow hair loss can be triggered by diet, genetics, or even some underlying disorder; however, the biggest culprit is a dip in hormones as this directly affects the hair growth cycle. To manage eyebrows thinning due to aging, it is advisable to modify nutritional intake to support a balanced metabolism of estrogen, or else opt for hormone therapy under medical supervision.
2 Nutritional Deficiency
If you are eating an unbalanced diet, you may notice hair thinning, which can also happen to the eyebrows. To help with this, include vitamins and essential fatty acids in your diet. Other recommended nutritional powerhouses to include are vitamin D, omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, and iron.
3 Alopecia Areata
Not restricted to the scalp hair only and known as male or female pattern baldness, this condition affects the eyebrows also. It triggers patchy baldness of the eyebrows and in extreme cases; it can cause all of the brow hairs to fall out. This condition is characterized by burning, itching, and redness on these hairless areas; an autoimmune disease is considered the key reason. The good news is thinning brows due to Alopecia Areata can always regrow once the auto autoimmunease has been treated.
