Family Brunching at Café Naseem

The weather is cooling slightly and the best part is the spectrum of brunches that return back on the gastronomy scene in UAE. One of these is Ajman Hotel’s Café Naseem Friday brunch which not only indulges your entire family with a wide spectrum of delicious food on offer, but includes live entertainment, a breathtaking view of the Ajman beach, and the option to dine al fresco.

From the mostly Mediterranean and Arabic inspired salads, we tucked into traditional tabouli, vine leaves, and fattoush. Some super standouts include Italian chicken salad, olives salad, taco beef salad, tomato mozzarella, and my absolute favorite, egg based, bite sized Spanish tortillas. And of the two kinds of soup— I preferred the heartiness of the Harrira soup.

Also inside was a special range of hot dishes including seafood and mushroom gratin, meatballs, beef stroganoff, lamb stew, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables, chicken cacciatore, as well as my favorite the steamed Nile perch, cooked Arabic style—it was succulent, light, and a definite hit with us. Not forgetting kids, inside there is a designated kiddie buffet with everything that kids love—chicken nuggets, finger foods, popcorn, and ice-cream.

Outdoors, The Arabic station served up made-to-order shawarmas while the Indian section dished up steaming dal makhani and pav bhaji made to order. There was a live pasta station where we indulged in a creamy Alfredo with shrimp.

The star here though was the live cooking huge grill station where you select your own cuts of meats, fish, chicken, and jumbo prawns. There are also side dishes to add on such as baked potatoes, corn on the cob as well as several types of gravies for garnishing.

After a leisurely afternoon of grazing on a huge variety of food, we headed for their enormous desserts section which undoubtedly has something for everyone. Opera cake—a delicate, chocolate layered cake, raspberry panna cotta, mango passion mousse, fresh fruit tarts, raspberry pistachio cake, and so many more. While I enjoyed a bit of everything, my favorite was the vanilla choux, a light and airy French pastry filled with cream.

The Verdict: This brunch was buzzing from start to finish and no wonder… with such an array of delicious food on offer, friendly service, and a family relaxed vibe, it’s sure to please everyone in your family.
