Finding the Right Balance…A One on One with Anna Al Qasimi Roberts

In honor of International Women’s Day, which is just around the corner, meet Anna Al Qasimi-Roberts, the managing director of a company called “Nudge” in the UAE and also recently gave birth to twins in New Zealand. Anna discusses her fitness routine, eating right, creating a balance, self-care, juggling her hectic life with work, and how motherhood has transformed her life.

What is your philosophy regarding being fit and healthy?
“I believe it’s all about balance and setting your foundations. For me, I know that movement is a great outlet for me mentally, to be able to deal with tough situations, and get some excess energy out of my system to be able to focus on the business and ultimately be the best person I can be.”

What constitutes a good diet?
“It’s about balance, in fact, what works for one individual would not necessarily work for another, so I think it’s essential to understand what fuels your body, why you are choosing to eat the things you are eating and how much you respect your body and treat it.”

What is your top health and beauty advice?
“Self-care is the most important thing you can do for yourself and others. If you take care of your own health and feel comfortable in your skin you can give more to others – across your business and life.”

How do you juggle your busy life?
“By being organized; responding to emails, setting appointments in my diary, and establishing boundaries so I do not feel overwhelmed while being able to stick to my basics of exercising, meal preparation, and time to reflect and remain creative.”

Tell us about baby fitness and your routine pre-and post-delivery.
“I was extremely active until a month before delivery when the sheer weight started to really make it difficult to move. Post-delivery, I was walking with the twins almost daily until three months when I started back to exercise. It’s what felt right for my body. I also got assistance from Keith Littlewood at Balanced Body Mind to assist with reactivating and connecting my core muscles again.”

What are your tips to living healthy, lean, and fit?
“Do what is best for you: your time, your commitments, your goals and your resources. Find out what you can do to nourish your body, move daily, and motivate yourself in business and life.”
