With deadlines and endless to-do lists, for me, stress levels are usually at an all-time high. So when I was invited to try the latest Total Vitality Treatment at Spa Zen in Dubai’s iconic Nassima Royal Hotel, I was more than delighted to indulge. Here’s how it went…

Ambiance

Inspired by Japanese minimalism, as I entered Spa Zen, the Zen-like calm immediately put me at ease with candles flickering, dimmed lighting, and dark granite walls. The space is expansive, spread across the entire seventh floor of the hotel and boasts separate gym facilities for men and women, separate relaxation areas and treatment rooms, a rooftop swimming pool, and a salon. While filling out the form, I was given a welcome peppermint tea and greeted by Sana, the spa manager, who gave me a grand tour of this gorgeous spa and its many amenities.

Treatment

My therapist Julie May invited me to the treatment room to change and explained the Total Vitality Treatment is a specialized back treatment, targeting an area most of us tend to neglect. The treatment includes an extensive body massage which I requested to have modified to a full leg and back massage with an anti-aging facial, instead of the full body massage and mini cleansing facial.

After I settled on the treatment bed face down, Julie May applied an Herbal Mud Back Treatment masque by Eminence that would help decongest, detoxify, and heal blemishes. After I showered to remove it, I was treated to a very soothing massage with a core focus on my shoulders–to undo knots that had accumulated and then my legs, using the Organic Apricot Body Oil, another gold-star Eminence product.

Julie-May’s pressure and kneading were so relaxing that I dozed off mid-way, only to be gently awoken for the facial. This was to help balance my tired skin and give a glow. It began with a deep cleansing followed by a toner. Next, I was treated to a scrub using the Eminence Pear and Poppy Seed Scrub. Then after steam, a gentle extraction dislodged impurities. After this, the first mask was applied to soothe any redness. Finally, the second mask was applied and left on for about 20 minutes. The final step was an Eminence serum and then, of course, an SPF.

Results: I love this treatment! My entire body felt rejuvenated, relaxed, and completely refreshed. My face also glowed and looked hydrated. This is a must-try for anyone who is looking for that perfect all-encompassing treatment in a beautiful setting using gold-standard products.
