Good Food and an Energizing Vibe at the Nara Pan Asian Brunch

Launched in July 2018 by established Dubai restaurateur Anand Radia, Nara Pan Asian serves Thai, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine in a trendy setting in Cluster A, Jumeirah Lake Towers.

An edgy and contemporary décor with Japanese street art and graffiti on the walls, Nara is a super happening place with a really energizing vibe with the 90’s music and the really friend staff. We were informed the brunch is brought to the table except for the fresh sushi which was being constructed in an open counter. The menu is divided into small plates with all-time favorite dishes from China, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The dim sums, sushi, and mocktails are unlimited.

This was sushi haven with the chef creating our favorites right before our very eyes. From the Maki, we tried the California rolls, spicy tuna, avocado and salmon, and vegetable. The nigiri included salmon, prawn, crab stick, and sweet tofu. I tried one of each and to be honest, every single one was delicious, but my absolute favorite was the crab stick nigiri and the spicy tuna.

From the small plates we sampled a few.Upon the chef’s recommendation, I ordered the Togarashi Mushrooms, which was a really crispy batter fried mushrooms with Togarashi sauce that I really enjoyed. The Chicken Baos—pulled chicken tossed in soft bao buns which were even more delectable when dipped in sweet chili sauce. The dynamite prawns—tempura filled prawns tossed in a spicy mayo sauce, served in the characteristic glass were a hit, as always. We also tried the Thai beef salad which was moreish and refreshing. In between, we ordered several varieties of virgin mojitos—one was the refreshing strawberry and lemon and mint coolers.

Next we were served baskets of steamed dim sum which included crystal veg, edamame truffle, Thai veg green curry, BBQ chicken chai siu bao, chicken and shrimp, and mixed seafood. Our favorites were the mixed seafood, the BBQ buns and the chicken and shrimp and we grazed on these as we enjoyed the music.

After taking a break, we ordered our mains. Mine was the Thai Green Vegetable Curry with Jasmine rice which was comforting and very satisfying while the kids’ ordered Beef Mongolian with chicken stir fried noodles as well as the Prawns coconut curry. With not much room left for dessert, we were served a refreshing fruits platter with small bowls of Crème Brule which was the perfect end to this yummy meal.

The Verdict: Nara Pan Asian Brunch is now one of my favorite places to visit for brunch. The food is top notch and you are spoiled for choice with the variety. The vibe is energizing and it’s a must visit for delicious Asian food served by very friendly staff.
