Nefertiti Neck Lift

Many of us invest in high quality skincare and indulge in facials, hoping to look younger than we really are. Yet in the process, the neck area gets neglected and ultimately starts showing telltale signs of aging faster. To solve this problem once and for all, the experts at The Spanish Center in Dubai invited me to try their Nefertiti Neck Lift treatment and here’s how it went. 

Defined
A well-defined jawline with a long neck has been the hallmark of beauty since the time of the Egyptians. The Nefertiti Neck Lift therefore, is a minimally invasive procedure which redefines the neck and the jawline for a more contoured look. 

What it is
During the consultation, Dr. Hala Sheikh Ali, specialist dermatologist, thoroughly examined my entire face and neck and explained that this technique uses multiple injections of Botox along the lower jawline as well as down the side of the neck along the platysma muscle. This helps rebalance the underlying muscles and gives a lift of the jaw and neck area. She pointed out that the results last for less duration than Botox in the face, mainly because we use our neck constantly. Also, the process requires about three days to absorb so results will only be evident then. The results last around 12 weeks, but can vary from patient-to-patient. 

Indications
Lines on the neck, both vertical and horizontal are indicators. However, this is no recommended for individuals with deeply sagging skin and that would require more invasive techniques.  

Procedure
After my face was thoroughly cleaned, Dr. Hala used the normal Botox technique (the same as is for the forehead) for the vertical lines on my neck while using then Mesotox (Botox injected with close together—around half a centimeter of space in-between).      

Afterwards
Immediately after the treatment, my neck resembled a railroad track, but I was assured this would last only a few minutes. Some precautions to take 48 hours post treatment include no sauna or heavy sports for 48 hours. Also, no touching the neck area for at least four hours post treatment, and I was advised to keep my neck elevated for the day as much as possible.  

Results: What a difference this has made to my neck and jawline! Three days later there are no visible lines on my neck and my neck looks smoother, tighter, and actually more lifted than it has in years. This is a must-do treatment for anyone who wants to preserve the integrity of their skin and turn back the clock without having to resort to surgery.
