Revive and Rejuvenate your Looks Post Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan is always special, yet there is no denying that long fasting hours and hot climate can eventually take its toll on your face and body. If you see your skin getting dry and dull post Ramadan, take a moment to review your beauty regime and make sure you follow the following tips to help you look and feel your best.

1.Drink water every single day: Eight glasses at least: It’s important to drink a lot of water post Ramadan. It helps rejuvenate skin cells, keeping them hydrated. It also plumps up the skin and flushes out impurities and other toxins from your body.

2.Keep skin hydrated by using moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type: It’s very important to moisturize your skin post Ramadan as we know that skin becomes dehydrated due to lack of water and nutrients during the holy month. Invest in a good vitamin C serum, which will enhance skin hydration while protecting the skin against sun damage, especially in a very humid climate like a Dubai summer. It also enhances the healing process for skin acne, and so on, which is also prevalent during Ramadan for people who indulge in oily foods.

3.Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables: Load up on essential vitamins and minerals by consuming lots of healthy food, especially fruits and vegetables. Not only are they good for detox post Ramadan when most of us had to indulge in sweets and fatty food, but we all know the health – and beauty benefits – of fruits and veggies, so it’s a must to keep this a life-long habit.

4.Cut out caffeine: Caffeine naturally dehydrates our bodies and so it is something which needs to be cut down on, or else, it takes a toll on our skin. It can cause inflammation, collagen loss, and even toxic build-up in the skin which can lead to an increase in pimples.

5. Avoid using too much makeup: Skin is likely to be very dehydrated right after Ramadan and during this time, breakouts are most likely to happen. Using too much makeup can in fact increase breakouts in the skin and hence it is important to avoid using it. It is also important to ensure that products that you use on your face have added SPF, especially in Dubai’s sunny climate.
