For many of us, usually winter means closed shoes and boots, with the result that our hands and feet often suffer from neglect. So when I was invited to try their Sugar Scrub Signature Manicure/Pedicure treatment at Tips & Toes, I knew I was in for a treat. 

The treatment chairs face the very scenic Buhairah Corniche, and both the manicure and pedicure are done together, following the same treatment steps.   

This almost 45 minute treatment works not just on the hands and feet, but the entire arms, elbows down, and legs from the knees downwards. It began with the standard filing and cutting of the nails, Next were the manicure and pedicure steps: cuticle trimming, nail filing, shaping, and trimming according to the shape I wanted. This was followed by a dry scrub on my heels; an absolutely well needed step, then followed by a soak in warm, sudsy water. Once the skin was softened, the cuticles on both my hands and feet were trimmed and nails cleaned thoroughly with cuticle remover oil.  

Next, and the best part of the treatment in my opinion, was the Sugar Scrub applied to the hands, feet, legs, and arms and worked on vigorously to remove dead skin and polish the entire area. It was soothing, relaxing and felt wonderful. After the Sugar Scrub was removed, a heavenly smelling Mangosteen Mask was applied and the entire area was wrapped in sheets of plastic to generate heat. 

The last part and another purely relaxing element was the lovely massage done to soothe away the weeks of tension and typing away on the keyboard. 

The result: Super soft hands and feet, not a callous or uneven cuticle in sight! Next, my nails were buffed and shined using sweet almond oil to moisturize and give a boost of shine. As I don’t wear nail polish, I was done and good to go and wear those sandals with aplomb.
