The Importance of Chilling out

When it comes down to chilling out, many of us either don’t have the time for it or don’t feel it’s important. Here are some easy ways to find a few moments to chill out and regroup for enhanced wellness.

Pray or Meditate

When you feel overwhelmed, stop what you are doing and take five minutes out to pray or mediate in a quiet space. This will automatically calm you and help you regroup.

Close your eyes

Can’t take it anymore? Lie down, close your eyes, and just breathe. It’s good to keep a travel pillow handy for this and use the sponge as a tool to imagine it absorbing all of your tension and stress.

Just Breathe

An easy and simple way to chill out, even at your work station, is to take out five minutes to breathe. Even the Pranayama breathing, a yogic method that involves breathing through one nostril at a time to relieve anxiety, can help balance the mind and body and is simple to do.

Diversion

Sometimes when we are caught up in a stressful deadline, just five minutes of a diversion that is unrelated to work can help. Visit your favorite You Tube site or watch a few moments of your favorite TV show. If that isn’t your thing, pick up your favorite book and read a few pages.

Sweat it out

We all know that exercise is great for boosting wellness, but did you know that it can help trigger endorphins (happy hormones) to make us instantly feel alive and happier? Visit your local gym or do some yoga at home. Whatever you choose, the point is that is should help you feel relaxed and chilled out.
