It’s not often that I get to try a beauty treatment that has very little downtime, but the Mesoglow treatment at Obagi MediSpa in Jumeirah does just this. Also, packed with powerful vitamins and antioxidants, gives an immediate glow.

Prep

The treatment begins with a consultation with Dermatologist Dr. Muhsen Kalaji who explains this treatment is administered according to the patient’s needs and skin type. It can be done either by injection, derma-pen or a roller. He often combines the derma-pen with the injections for a more effective result. Once the face has been cleansed, the derma-pen is rolled across areas of my face, each area for a different amount of time to prepare the skin for the vitamin injections. The derma-pen has several sized needles that gently go over the skin. It doesn’t hurt but is a more scratching sensation.

Vitamins

Next, using a very fine needle, Dr. Kalaji injected tiny amounts of vitamins C and E alongside fruit acids. He explained that also glutathione can be included in this for a brightening effect and hyaluronic acid for firming. He made several very quick and small injections on my chin, forehead, cheeks, and nasolabial area. While it didn’t hurt, there was slight discomfort. This treatment takes around one hour total and can be done every two to three weeks, depending on skin type. Mesotherapy can be used for the body on cellulite, for hair growth, body contouring, and facial skin rejuvenation.

Results: Right after, my face looked red and felt a little warm. About three hours later, the redness vanished and I was left with glowing, baby-soft skin which I was told would last up to three weeks. This is a must-try treatment to do for glowing skin.
