Picnic Pantry at The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Dubai Festival City

A picnic paradise awaits you at level 5 of The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Dubai Festival City—Picnic Pantry is that perfect place with a reimagined brunch—with picnic benches and umbrella awnings as well as cozy grass seating complete with bean bags, cushions, and mats, the mood here is contagious with kids’ and adults alike enjoying the food and feel good vibe.

We were given a wicker picnic basket to fill to our hearts’ content from their walk-in Picnic Pantry. Here we stocked up on gourmet treats including mini tandoori chicken rolls and smoked salmon bagels. The gourmet salad jars included mini chicken salad to my favorite—quinoa and corn, plus beetroot, feta, and broccoli. There are breads here too—crusty French loaves, brioche, wholegrain rolls, available with assorted spreads—like avocado cream infused with truffle, hummus, muhamara, and moutabel,  plus artisanal cheeses and pickles. Also, there are cute Bento style boxes of sushi, lots of fresh fruits, fresh fruit juices, and smoothies.

There is a whole kiddie corner here with face painting, a photo booth, kids’ finger foods, including fun popcorn and cotton candy stations. There is a whole section dedicated to the art of bespoke nachos; complete with salsa, olives, cheese, corn tortilla chips, guacamole, and sour cream. Adjacent to this are the fresh grill burger patties ready to be made into a bespoke gourmet burger—complete with onion jam, condiments, add-ons, and assorted buns and cheeses.

Pool entry is free to anyone enjoying the brunch, and with the live entertainment, created a really chilled out vibe. The live grill BBQ station had tiger prawns, beef steaks, corn on the cob, chicken drumsticks, lamb kebobs skewers, and salmon. There is also “The Smoker” station where a chef was live cooking beef brisket, spicy beef ribs, and spicy chicken alongside roasted vegetables.

For dessert; the kids’ made their own ice creams while I helped myself to mini jars of brownie bits in chocolate mousse, tiny pots of my favorite Crème Brule, tiny fruit tarts, sliced apple crumble tart, plum tart, berries compote, tiramisu hazelnut and sesame,  raspberry sable, and loads more.

The Verdict: At the end of this fun picnic brunch, you will want to stretch out on the grass and take a snooze. This fun brunch has lip smacking food, a chilled out vibe, and includes stunning views of the city skyline—don’t miss it!
